Appearance:
In his mid-thirties, Rod stands a head above most challengers at a solid 6′5, his body nothing but hard, lean muscle tanned by spending his days out in the sun. His eyes are a deep brown like rich soil after a good rain, hair a vibrant red that spills down in a thick fall to his midback. His bangs insist on showing under his wide brimmed hat, partially obscuring expressive brows.

His shirt is of a unique design, just enough violet fabric stretched across to cover his pectorals and hold the sleeves on. Full shoulders puff up briefly before leather arm garters hold them close to the upper arm, opening up at the forearm into a bell with thick white cuffs. Leather gloves protect his hand from crafting and combat alike, matching to the ankle boots that come up over the ends of his form fitting, low slung breeches. Belts secure it in sets of three, around his waist, left thigh and right calf.

Personality:
Rod is a very laid back, sometimes philosophical and generally optimistic man. He’s chivalrous, though sometimes to the point of underestimating women - though he’s quick to mend his ways when set straight. He’s always in search of a new challenge, and loathe to set down roots until he’s reached his ultimate goal.

Backstory:

It’s said that the Invincible Pleskin was the greatest swordsman in history. It’s said, in fact, that he never lost a fight and was even capable of tremendous feats of strength and skill with the lowest quality of blade. His son grew up in his shadow, but it was Rod’s dream to one day challenge his father - to be the one that finally unseated him and took his place in history as the greatest swordsman.

This dream was crushed when Pleskin died before Rod was able to challenge him.

Unwilling to give up on his goal to make a mark on history, Rod changed his aim; he would become the greatest weaponsmith in the world, to create and wield the ultimate weapon. A lofty dream, but he poured his heart into it.

A self proclaimed “weapon maker, vagrant and a swordsman” Rod travels the world in search of inspiration and to find new fighters to hone his skills against. It’s a hard life, money is always tight as almost all of it goes to buying his supplies for weapon making and maintaining his mobile workshop, but he’s no stranger to hard work. In his eyes, there’s nothing in life worth doing that you don’t have to put your heart into.

Main Verses:
V: The Wanderer (Before the Game)
Self proclaimed “weapon maker, vagrant and a swordsman” Rod has set out to travel the world seeking to improve himself fighting the most challenging people he can find and finding motivation to continue his efforts to craft the ultimate weapon. Money is tight, made by his challenges and the periodic selling of monster parts and immediately funneled back into purchasing supplies for his weaponsmithing, but he’d have it no other way.

V: A Matter of Heart (During the Game)
Rod has made his temporary home in Carona, seeking inspiration once more to make better and better weapons to earn himself a place in history. He never expected to get caught up in the search for the [relic] but considers the people he’s met friends worthy of help.

V: Inspired Travels (After the Game)
After everything settles once more, Rod leaves Carona to travel again, still seeking further inspiration. For once, though, he has more people to ground him, places he’s willing to come back to during his wanderings. Carona will forever hold a special place in his heart.
