Roleplay Sheet: Minako Aino, Sailor Moon
Fandom: Sailor Moon, mostly manga-based
Character: Minako Aino/Venus
Open for crossovers? Yes
Appearance:
Minako stands at 5′2 flatfooted, though she can usually be seen wearing heels that take her up another inch or two. Fair skinned and blue eyed, perhaps one of her most striking features is her long blonde hair, falling to the backs of her knees and held back by a simple red bow. While she spends most of her time in either her school uniform or Senshi uniform, Minako prefers bright colors, favoring yellows and reds. Her Senshi uniform’s orange-gold harkens back to her preferences as Venus.
Personality:
Minako has a bubbly, cheerful personality that is mostly true. She tries to keep optimistic and upbeat, for her own sake and to keep her friends’ morale up. While she hasn’t been very successful academically, she succeeds at most things she’s willing to put the work into and is very confident in herself. She’s also a chronic flirt and hopeless romantic, despite not really having had any actual relationships.
Backstory:
Minako was first born millennia ago as the crown princess of Venus, but her destiny was not to rule. Like the other first born princesses of the Sol System, Princess Venus was destined to serve the heir to the Silver Millennium throne, Princess Serenity. Due to her strong resemblance to the younger princess, her duties expanded to not merely being the leader of the Inner Senshi but also to being Serenity’s body double and confidante.
Venus became an accomplished warrior at a young age with both bladed and energy weapons, and was well informed in the politics of the kingdom - sometimes moreso than Serenity herself. When negotiations began with Earth, she often found herself scrambling to cover for - and retrieve - Serenity as she continued to sneak down to the planet to see Prince Endymion. Admittedly, there was considerable chemistry between Venus and the head of the Prince’s Shitennou as well, though circumstances never allowed them to pursue it in earnest.
When war broke out, Venus died fighting. She was reborn in Tokyo as Minako Aino, and wouldn’t regain her memories until she was a teenager.
At age thirteen, Minako was awakened as Sailor V by one of Queen Serenity’s advisors, Artemis. The first of the Senshi to awaken, she was actually the last of the inner court to join the group with the others, temporarily passing herself off as the Moon Princess to protect the unawakened Usagi. When Usagi is eventually awakened as Princess Serenity, Minako goes through a second awakening and begins to regain more of her memories as Venus.
A cheerful and athletic girl who has lost the interest her former incarnation had in academics, Minako serves once again as the leader of the Inner Senshi and protector and confidante of her princess. She continues to come into her own as the years pass, growing into a confident young woman and fierce fighter by the time Crystal Tokyo arrives.
Main Verses:
V: Princess Venus (Silver Millennium)
As both Princess of her home planet and leader of the guardians of Princess Serenity, Venus had a variety of responsibilities she was mindful of. Due to her resemblance to the princess, she was also often called upon as Serenity’s body double and was therefore also well versed in galactic politics. (Sometimes better than Serenity herself.)
V: Soldier of Love (canon timeline)
Ages 13-16, the time period from when Artemis first picked her as Sailor Venus through the end of Stars. Minako is still in school, and at the same time coming to terms with life as a Sailor Senshi.
V: In Times of Peace (post-canon, pre-Crystal Tokyo)
Peace has finally found the Soldier of Love. She still lives in Tokyo with the rest of the girls, though she’s taken the opportunity to travel the world once she graduated from High School. (Ages 17-22)
